As I was coming back from Windsor this morning, I saw the car ahead of me go through the flashing red lights at a railway crossing. He/she made it but I wonder why anyone one chance it.
I think that it's pretty easy to misjudge the speed of an oncoming train! :-?

When I was a teenager, I babysat every day after school for a couple with three kids all under the age of 8.
One day, we think, the dad tried to race a train and get across the tracks before it got there. He must have thought he could. They say that we really can't judge the speed with which they reach us, that it's an illusion that is seems farther away than it is. He lost, the train pushed his van for almost a mile before it was able to stop. And, it was too late, he had died on impact.

this is nothing but the truth... One can not judge the speed of a oncoming train NOR HEAR it at times.. depends on the direction of the wind!! well I wasn't going to reply to this and not sure if I should have.......... so I will leave it now!! :( Ann ![]() Beejay. cars well yes if especially if theres the crossing lights etc.. but pedestrians.. it's not always that some chance it.. some just Don't see it..........until its too late! |
