Anyone ever broken a condom while with an SP?
I was with a girl today, well reviewed on a different board in the GTA. At the end I was pounding pretty hard and when I pulled out the end of the condom was gone! It was some brand I had never heard off, ONE, and she put it on me but it looked like she did it right. It was pretty wierd, I went into the washroom and scrubbed my junk with hot water and soap, not that that would really do any good but I had to do something. The girl was half panickng but she was only worried about getting pregnant. I told her to go to a clinic or a shoppers and get the morning after pill and she would be fine, gave her 10 bucks to pay for it. I am kinda playing a waiting game now, no point in getting checked out for a week or two. I will have to get checked out again in three months for the HIV as well. I asked her and she said that she never has sex without rubbers but she did not say when she was last tested or even if she was STD free. Any words of comfort or advice. Thanks |

1) Yes this has happened to me twice, and is a scary thing to experience. Proper procedure in application is important, even at that time of some excitement (hopefully). No oils should be used with latex. Sizing is also important.
2). You can have a checkup sooner than you suggest, some more common STIs show up within days, so head down to a clinic soon. 3) In my case, I don't believe that I became a father, nor did I acquire an infection. Regular testing is a good idea for us all, for everyone's health and comfort. Let's be happy, wise and safe. Doug1 |

Shouldn't this discussion be in the Health & Hygiene Section ?
![]() I don't see how it belongs in the Reviews and Discussions of Providers in London. Toronto, maybe.

1) Plan B costs about 25$, but your heart was in the right place.
2) tests can turn positive in about 3 days, but waiting 7 is not unreasonable. 3) If you actually get a discharge, don't wait! The testing is done from direct swabs. 4) If no symptoms, the tests are done through a urine test (from the first 20cc of urine coming out). In either case the testing checks for cell wall components of GC and Chlamydia, and results are back within 2 days, depending on the lab. 5) treatment is simple, if you get it (aside from allergies) Suprax 400mg, Zithromax 1 Gm po (4 tabs), taken all at once, 99% effective. Reassurance??? The vast majority of providers are far smarter about this than the general public.

Yes, urinating before and after intercourse reduces infections for both men and women...all urinary tract infections, especially in women. The reason is simply mechanical, if you urinate you wash out the bacteria and reduce the bacterial "load". Less number of bacteria, less likely to get the infection. Women have a shorter urethra, so it is even more important to them as it is easier for the bacteria to get into the bladder (1 inch vs 6 inches, or 9 inches as some would have you believe). Obviously it is not 100% effective! Washing after reduces the risk of all infections (reduce, not eliminate), viral or bacterial. The Canadian Armed Forces did a study in Afghanistan. Antibacterial lotions versus soap and water, versus water alone. Surprise surprise, water alone was almost as effective as soap and water after a 3 minute rinse (I think it was 3 min) in running water. Soap and water is more effective than those alcohol lotions...presumably because you are not washing away the bacteria, you are just trying to kill them. So if you don't wash after you are making a mythstake.

Oh trust me I wash after but I was not talking about cleanliness and minor common urinary tract infections
I am talking about whether there exists a myth, ie. a mistaken belief common among people Therefore I am talking about the belief that washing after will help in any way with herpes and HPV There is no way you can imagine it helps with aids So lets talk real disease conditions here I guess there are others on here who have a clue what I am talking about, perhaps they can help I have heard about a myth, a mistaken belief, about washing preventing serious conditions, do you know anything about this or is this the first time you have heard about this myth? Will washing help in any way with herpes or HPV? Thank you Maggie Last edited by Maggie; 08-29-2009 at 01:18 PM. Reason: Spelling |
