Observation On Health & Hygiene

Hey everyone, I just want to share something I discovered on another board. I have some trips planned to Montreal so I've been scouting the relevant boards there in case I have time for entertainment. One board has an entire section devoted to discussions of health and hygiene especially in this sexual arena. I've been blown away by what I've read and how active the thread is.

First, I thought "wow, good topic to raise, we don't have that here on OE and the subject doesn't come up that often". But when it does, I get a sense our community here for the most part, is quite knowledgeable. Perhaps not.

Then, I was amazed at the types of questions and the posting activity on that thread. Some people appeared quite ignorant of basic physiology and sexual health matters. Others, brought up some ideas so foreign I began to doubt my own knowledge.

There was this one discussion - huge - all on the risks of DATY and the spread of STDs. Of course there were debates whether this could actually happen. And then there was a digression into the chemical PH changes in a woman's vagina due to DATY or as an indicator whether to proceed based on the "taste" due to different PH levels. Is she acidic or alkaline? Talk about varied and explosive opinions. Personally, this is one I haven't heard of. Sure, I know about PH and bodily changes can occur. But to perform, as some in that thread all but suggested, a vaginal litmus taste before, um...indulging. Well...

Enough rambling, just consider this a field report.

yes i've heard of this and how a womans "taste" changes . i have my own test that i use i call it the "P U" test...when im about to venture into that area i distract her with a passionate kiss and non shalantly run my fingers down there. i then pretend to have an itchy nose. this gives me the opportunity to woft the aroma of said sample, and if i think to myself " P U " thats a one a spicey a meatballa its game off...i have other such check routines...pm for more details!

I think a forum discussing this info would be a great idea (disease info that is)... but heaven forbid we ever see any reviews actually describing this in detail, that would be distasteful period.

You know...I am surprised there isn't a Health section here, to discuss these types of issues.
But, it is clear to me (based on many other topics of the same nature) that a lot of people on this board like to bury their heads in the sand when it comes to STDs and all the many ways to contract them. Most will say they choose to partake in this hobby and accept the possible risks of their actions as they are grown adults and are able to make decisions for themselves.....which is true...so basically it will just start another huge debate of some kind.

But hey, I'm up for a Health and Hygiene section!

I don't know if there actually would be potential liability for OE but then hey, there are health websites al over the net.

I think such a section could add great value to OE.

ok i'll start with a question.....ive always practiced safe sex but i had no idea that you could pick up any std's through oral sex....could someone please expound?

May I make a suggestion? Let's follow same etiquette as for any other section.

When someone has a question about a specific issue/disease/activity or whatever:
1. First search the Health section to see if it's been mentioned before.
2. If YES, add to that thread
3. If NO, then start a new thread.

For example, let's put Dixie's question about oral sex and STDs in its own thread. Anyone can then read/add to that particular issue.

I think I should sit in the bush a bit
I have been doing a lot of research
Caution with terms, math, science and wisdom were necessary
Defining terms will be important such as low risk
How low is low risk and should it be multiplied by 200 or 2000 if those are your partners in a year?
Does low risk mean the same to the hobbyist and the provider?
Mathematical probabilities based on scientific research is much easier to insert into a formula
I called and spoke to several medical and health professionals in my research
I quickly found a full range of answers to each of my questions
Asking someone who we think knows, who think they know but do not know, who tell us that they know, is no good
Unless we have checked the data links to research ourselves we are going to get stuck in old news, myths, and errors
Now that I have what I believe are the right answers I am not prepared to implement any changes until I thoroughly verify all my results
Perhaps this thread will be an adventure for us all

We need to carefully separate what we know from what we only think we know
I loved the “PU” test regarding the “spiceymeataballs”
But what do we know if the “meataballs” smell like roses or the roses smell like roses
What is safe play?
